Hemp is a rare textile, accounting for less than 1% of global production. It is significantly more expensive than cotton or linen because:
• Cotton makes up about 27% of global textile production, primarily grown in countries like the China, Brazil, India and African countries. However, conventional cotton often involves pesticides and heavy water consumption.
• Linen accounts for slightly over 1%, with leading producers like France and Belarus. While more sustainable than cotton, it doesn’t match hemp in terms of durability or ecological benefits.
• Hemp, on the other hand, is naturally pesticide-free, uses half the water of cotton, and improves soil health where it’s grown. Its cultivation is concentrated in Europe and China, making it a niche but sustainable choice.
3. Quality That Lasts:
Hemp textiles are naturally breathable, antibacterial, and moisture-wicking. They age gracefully, becoming softer and more luxurious over time. With proper care, our bedding doesn’t just serve you for years—it becomes better with age.
